COVID-19 Update – Rules Regarding Wedding Receptions

by | COVID-19 Updates, Wedding Receptions, Weddings

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has recently announced that from Saturday 15th August small wedding receptions will be allowed to take place in England.

Brides and grooms are now allowed to host receptions in the form of a sit-down meal for up to 30 guests.

If you are considering music, you will be pleased to know that small indoor performances are now allowed, but social distancing guidelines must still be followed. A reception with dancing is not advised unless your guests are part of the same social bubble.

The new government guidance does not apply to areas currently under local lockdown. This means that venues must be contacted to ensure they are not within the catchment. Also, guests who reside within the local lockdown area will not be able to attend the event.

Hopefully by 2021 we will be getting back to normal and weddings will be able to be enjoyed by each and every one of us.
